Hier is de reactie van Maarit:
this is Maarit, the breeder of Samson, writing. Serena has the kindness to deliver my reply to you. I have no interest in a continued debate since there is not much to say about the issue more than following:
Natasja bought Samson from me in the end of 2009 as a breeder, under a rather hard restrictive contract from my part.
Unfortunately he turned out to have a flu when going, but since Herpes is prevalent in at least 94 % of cats and seldom even returns, and the symptoms appeared to be this - herpes - there was not much sweat. Just a shorter while after that I found out that it was instead Mycoplasmosis, which I apparantly had gotten in by a female visiting. Me and Natasja had had a dialogue about his flu, and I informed her about the Myco. I got the correct meds (Enrofloxacin in both oral and eyedrop form, which is the most effective, but he dutch vet refused to prescribe it) and sent them to Natasja, as well as payed all the veterinary bills connected to his flu. When he got symptom free, she took him to the vet and he was PCR-tested and declared free. End of story.
I took full responsibility for this incident, payed all costs, and there should be no reason for Natasja to be shittalking about that. End of story.
Natasja has through time breached our contract, which clearly states that a penalty of the purchase price of the cat will be liable, if a breach of contract is committed.
She did not even tell me that she had an outcross litter by him, nor that the mother was not scanned, something that is regulated by our written contract - that the female (and her parents) of the mating must be scanned before mating. This is an obvious breach of contract, and with full reason for court. I had to ask her about this mating, since Serena asked me about it and I thus found out. Natasjas defence was that it was an accident. But it doesn't really matter, she is still responsible, and actually owes me 1800 € for this breach of contract.
Since Natasja claimed she was going to neuter/spay all the kittens before they left, scan the mother and just keep breeder herself, I decided not to be too harsh, even though she had chose to not tell me about this incident, so I claimed no penalty.
Next possible breach I have found out now - in the middle of this with Tinkerbell. Turns out Natasja sold a breeder, something she was allowed to do, but should have discussed it with me.
But I don't know if Laura had a pedigree name at the time of the purchase? Or if she got this same contract, with restrictions regarding the use of the cat, with Tinkerbell. If not, it is a breach of contract. Again 1800 €. I have not been informed what so ever about this.
Further, I hear that Samson has been put out for sale on an online marketplace, claimed to be a backyardbred cat without Pedigree, and that makes me furious. Trying to make some little pennies that you could squeeze out from him? If he was not neutered by this time, it is also a breach of contract, i.e 1800 € more. Also, if he would have been sold and me not informed (I didn't hear or know anything about this what so ever) it would have been another breach since I demand to know where the cat is even after neutering and rehoming.
When Samson got EQ diagnosis, Natasja demanded money back, something I refused her since the cat was not yet ill. Equivocal does not mean ill, Equivocal means bordercase.
I have no doubts that sure, he would have became ill sometime, or maybe if not, would still have had HCM, but just not in an fully expressed form. But... if you buy a tv, and you think it's going to break, then you don't get money back until it breaks, right? I don't want to pay the money back until the cat is confirmed ill. And besides, I wanted Natasja to wait another scan before deciding anything, and she agreed after some fuss. Natasja accused me of all kinds of things, of which she knows nothing. So I was not very happy with her. I was planning to ask Serena to ask a lady she knows to take Samson in as a neutered pet, but then I recieve a mail from Natasja that Samson "died last night". I was so upset, and so furious with her that I simply could not reply.
My impression is that he was euthanized, which is pure insanity. She claimed that he was ill, but EQ is not ill. It's not even sure he would ever have developed full HCM, and even he did, only about 5 % of affected cats actually die from it. He could have lived a full life, and you choose to put him to sleep? Horrible.
Don't come with no story about him dying from heart failure because that's simply insane. He had so low values, at the scan just before, that he was only slightly above normal, there was nothing that could indicate any flaws in the heart that would be acute. If he indeed would have died at home, then it would surely be relevant with autopsy to find out what it was?
Now Natasja goes around badmouthing me - very funny since she herself has been the worst thinkable buyer and breached our contract. She has absolutely no clue about HCM or how it works and long term breeding strategies, and has no business mixing into my breeding. Yes, I breed Samsons halfsister. And yes, kittens from that combo are going to breeding, to my friends. And yes I will breed her again. And yes, I breed Samsons aunt, uncle, niece and nephew. Don't come with accusations when you don't know anything about what you are talking about. I have worked with HCM for years and know exactly what I do. The risks involved are by my calculations necessary. There are no free lines. I would rather work with a line I know, and try to sort out free cats. I don't have to defend myself at all.
And luckily - Natasja doesn't have nor the impact nor the reputation to harm me in any way. I have worked hard for the respect I have as a breeder, and I don't think that anyone who knows me even the slightest would even listen to her BS.
I am very sorry for the result of my stupid decision to sell Samson to Natasja. I am sorry for Tinkerbell also. I have the contact information to Laura. I also ask you all to inform me if you find anymore of his kittens, especially used in breeding. Thank you. Anyone who has any questions may contact me. email@example.com
